Aaron Zart

Aaron is in his fourth year as a Vocal Music Director at Lincoln East High. He has taught high school vocal music for eight years, the first four of which he spent at Troy Buchanan High School in Troy, MO. He has worked with concert choirs, show choirs, a cappella groups, and has given students opportunities to perform in many beautiful venues all over the country. He is a graduate of Lincoln East High School and then earned his degree in Music Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Outside of teaching, Aaron’s passion is barbershop harmony. He has previously served as the assistant director of the Lincoln Continentals Barbershop Chorus in addition to being the founder and director of Lincoln’s first ever youth barbershop chorus, The Good Life Chorus. He has performed with many ensembles throughout his barbershop career as a lead singer. Most recently, he competed in Charlotte, NC at the Barbershop Harmony Society’s International contest with his quartet, Fleet Street, and earned a 15th place finish. While living in St. Louis, he also sang with the 4-time International Chorus Champions, The Ambassadors of Harmony, and earned two International silver medals with the chorus. In addition to singing and performing this music, Aaron also loves bringing the artform to young singers. He has served in many different roles at a cappella camps and workshops all over the country, but most notably Harmony Explosion (Lincoln, NE) and UMSL’s Acappellooza Summer (St. Louis, MO).

When he isn’t making music, Aaron enjoys spending time with his lovely fiancé, Jacqueline, and their three dogs. He also loves quality time with his family and friends, hiking in National Parks, watching hockey, and rooting for a very challenging Husker football team. He is extremely excited to be back with the Lincoln Continentals, where his barbershop journey started 11 years ago. It’s GREAT to be a Continental!!!

In 2021 and 2022, Logan’s program was recognized by the NAMM Foundation as one of the Best Communities for Music Education.

Outside of academia, Logan has enjoyed coaching and arranging for ensembles throughout eastern Nebraska. Logan also enjoys spending time with friends and family, and loves to cook meals to enjoy in their company.
